People of old

Before kings and queens, there were ordinary people — the farmers, mothers, children, and young women who made up the vast majority of every historical community. This collection represents them: figures dressed in simple traditional European clothing, without rank or occupation, available in both light and dark skin tones.

The figures are designed for open-ended family and village play — a man and woman, boys and girls of different ages, babies, and maidens. No fixed roles, no prescribed stories. The same figures serve a medieval village, a fairy tale setting, or a Waldorf nature table depending on what the child brings to them.

Each is carved from beech wood and hand-painted. Faceless by design, as with all Mr Fox Crafts people figures — leaving expression, emotion, and character entirely to the child’s imagination.
